Center for Missouri Nurses invites you to learn about the importance of serving on boards! This is an introductory webinar and free for everyone to attend!

This presentation will focus on the decade of impact of the nurses on boards coalition since its formation in 2014 in response to the IOM Future of Nursing Report in 2010. The presenter will share the resources to prepare and support nurses in being confident, comfortable, and competent to serve on boards and other governing bodies, including the newest micro-credentials, governance competency / readiness model, and new information on the roadmap to board service and the future of board service.

Dr. Cole Edmonson, DNP, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, FAAN, FNAP, FAONL

Dr. Edmonson has a career spanning three decades with roles including clinical nurse, supervisor, manager, director, associate chief nursing office, chief nursing officer in both non-profit / for-profit adult and children’s hospitals and a chief clinical officer in workforce solutions. As the chief clinical officer in the nation’s largest total talent solution company, he led experience/marketing, quality, education, research, credentialing and clinical organizations. As well as being experienced in mergers and acquisitions, consulting and advising. He is a scientific advisory to several technology companies including robotics, virtual reality, education and immune-assay companies.  Edmonson currently serves as the CEO for the Nurses on Boards Coalition, that’s mission is to improve the health of communities through the service of nurses on boards and other entities. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, National Academy of Practice, American Organization for Nursing Leadership and the American College of Healthcare Executives; and Nursing Executive Advanced-Board Certified by ANCC.

Dr. Edmonson serves on the American Nurses Credentialing Center, as a board member and secretary. He is a past president of the DFW Great 100 Nurses Inc. and was selected in 2003 as a recipient. He dedicates his time to serving on local boards of colleges and universities to help shape the future and propel the profession of nursing forward. He served as a member of the National League for Nursing (NLN) Acceleration to Practice Committee, a commissioner on the NLN Commission on Nursing Education Accreditation and as the Chair of the NLN Foundation. Edmonson served on the Texas Board of Nursing transition to practice study group.  He served on the Texas Hospital Association Board as the Nurse Executive Member of the board. He served as the chair of the THA Foundation.
